When you come to worship with us . . . You will never be singled out, but welcomed as our guest! Some dress up while others come casual. Our only request is that all will be modest and respectful. You will find variety in our worship time (some old songs, some new; celebration and reflective times; multi-media, skits, etc.). Weekly communion is offered for followers of Jesus Christ. The communion bread and juice are simple, visual reminders of His sacrifice, as the trays are passed for all who wish to partake. An offering will be collected during worship. Members are encouraged to give back to God as He has blessed them, while visitors are not expected to do so.All our messages are Bible-based, with a relevant application to every day life. Whether you bring your own Bible, use one of ours, or just listen to the sermon and look up references later, you will be encouraged to let the Bible speak to you.Prayer is an important part of our worship. At times it is voiced by one person up front. At other times your own private prayers are encouraged. At the end of the service there is time available for you to spend private time with God, request prayer, or to have someone pray with you.

SONSHINE PRESCHOOLJan Erndt, DirectorThe Sunbury Sonshine Preschool is an outreach ministry of the Sunbury Christian Church and celebrated its twenty year anniversary in 2009. The school is licensed by the Ohio Department of Human Services. Our philosophy is that children learn through play. They also learn by creating and doing. Our curriculum is both developmentally and individually appropriate. We base our programs and practices on respect for the indivdual child, indivdual rate of growth, and unique learning styles. HOURSThe school is in session September through May in accordance with the public school year. Hours of operation for the school are: 9:15 A.M. - 12:15 P.M., Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. ENROLLMENTThe school accepts children from ages 3 - 6. (Children must be fully potty trained.) Children may be enrolled at any time, as long as openings are available. PURPOSE AND GOALThe school's goal is to provide a warm, secure Christian environment while the child is away from his or her family. We provide an environment conducive to the development of each individual child in a Christian setting that will nurture and guide the spiritual, physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development of the child. Spiritual values are shared with the children through stories, songs, simple prayers and through experiencing Biblical principles (e.g. kindness, sharing, love, respect, and obedience). I have also discovered another level of love; it's called "grandkids"! What an absolute joy! I also enjoy mowing grass, a round of golf, travellingto Israel, travelling anywhere, watching people, and paying someone else to work on my car.Began Ministry at SCC: 1999Primary Area of Ministry: My main area of responsibility is the overall direction and progress of the church. I get to "encourage the troops", including both the paid staff and volunteers. Preaching and teaching become the most visible portion of my ministry. But life gets hard for everyone. So I find myself walking through the preschool to encourage the teachers and doing the little things to help ministry leaders be successful. It is my pleasure to meet with those who are new to SCC and to visit those who are struggling in the hospitals. In many ways I am the Coach, assisting others to grow in the gifts that God has given them, with the added privilege of opening God's Word every Sunday morning. What do you like best about working at SCC?There is a spirit of anticipation here. . . that God IS doing a good work. . . but He is ABOUT to do something MORE!! Lives continue to change! And what a joy it is to be able to carry on the good work that others began here over 50 years ago. I absolutely love the ministry, missions, and preaching. I love answering the questions that folks have, clearing the way for those wanting to know God better. For me, it's about helping people come to Jesus Christ. . . and it just doesn't get any better than that!
WELCOME!
We Believe. . .~ that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God who died for our sins and arose from the dead. (1 Corinthians 15:1-8)~ that the Bible is the inspired Word of God - a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. (2 Timothy 3:16)~ that every person has worth as a creation of God, but that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)~ that forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available for those who trust Christ as Savior and Lord. (John 3:16)~ that those accepting Christ should repent of sin, confess their faith and be baptized into Him. (Romans 10:9) (Acts 2:38)~ that the church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit and exists to reach the lost and edify the saved. (Ephesians 4:1-16)~ that Jesus Christ will one day return and reign forever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords! (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)For more information, read these two booklets:
